moving day
Tomorrow is our moving day! My little family of four is moving out to the country. Alexandria ohio to be exact! We will be 30 minutes closer to our land, so that means we will only be a 30 minute drive to the land. Jeff is planning on working 3 full days a week on our home this spring and I am sooooo exited! I am not going to be very helpful when it comes to actually building our home, but I can be helpful in ways like always having picnics set up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner breaks, being there too fill up Jeff's canteen, cleaning up around the work site, not to mention keeping the little ones busy! I also plan on working on a play area for the kiddo's near the work site. There is so so much to do! This summer I really want to find a good balance of taking care of our home, keeping our family healthy, building our earthship, nourishing our marriage, keeping up with the babies , gardening.... with a whole lot of prayer and hard work I think it can be done and done well! I'm off to get some sleep.. tomorrow is the beginning of yet another chapter in our life!

very first post
This blog is intended to be a picture of what my family's life will look like while we are building our Earthship home here in Ohio. We have 43 acres of land that we intend to live as self sustainable as possible. Starting this spring my husband Jeff will be working out at our land 3 days a week building our earthship. I will try and post as much info as possible about earthships and gardening and whatever else we dive into out there! There are a few family's building houses at the land which include my husbands brother and his wife along with their two girls, Zach and Sara, Abby and Eric, and Erica and Tim. My Family consists of my husband Jeff, Sunny my 1 year old and Juniper our 6 month old! I will start posting helpful links to those who are interested in living "off the grid" or building alternative housing.
"Rootdown" is what we call the Land and everyone who has made a lifelong commitment to be apart of it. We are a very close knit group of people with alot of the same values and Loves. We are always there for each other even though we are all at different stages of our lives right now.
